CUT is based in
the University of Newcastle's Claremont Tower and Daysh Building
CUT is committed
to developing an interdisciplinary perspective through which urban futures
can be explored. Straddling theory, empirical research and policy
analysis, CUT's agenda examines the multiple pathways of technological
innovation and the changing social organisation of urban development
shaping cities.
· Our history
Founded in 1995, the Centre for
Urban Technology (CUT) is one of six research centres within the University of Newcastle's new School of Architecture, Planning and
Landscape. The School was created in August 1999, from the merger of
the former Departments of Town and Country Planning and
Architecture.
